Ipswich High School Year 5 Residential

Ipswich High School’s Year 5 set off on their residential adventure on Wednesday, 22nd April to Thorpe Woodlands Activity Centre, and what an unforgettable experience it proved to be!
Throughout the trip, the children took part in a wide variety of exciting activities, including tree trekking, canoeing, caving and archery. One of the standout favourites was undoubtedly the mega swing, which saw pupils showing incredible courage and bravery as they challenged themselves to step outside their comfort zones.
The residential was a fantastic opportunity to see the strength of the Year 5 community in action. Pupils worked together brilliantly, supporting and encouraging one another during each activity. Their teamwork, determination and resilience were evident throughout, and it was wonderful to witness such positive collaboration.
In the evenings, everyone came together around the campfire to sing songs and toast marshmallows, creating lasting memories and strengthening friendships. Across the whole trip, the children demonstrated outstanding effort, hard work and a willingness to embrace new challenges.
It was a truly enriching experience, filled with laughter, achievement and moments of bravery that the children will remember for years to come.
