Woolverstone Hall Nursery
Woolverstone Hall Nursery provides an incredible educational experience and is situated in a beautiful 87-acre rural Suffolk location. Our unique countryside location is away from busy towns yet is only 5 miles from Ipswich town centre and only 10 minutes from the A14.
Our stimulating and welcoming school setting is friendly, nurturing and makes children feel happy, safe, and keen to learn. Our nursery and all-weather outdoor learning environment with gardens are highly resourced to provide opportunities for every child to grow and develop. The incredible location of our nursery means that we incorporate both Forest and Beach School into our weekly nursery curriculum. Our age-appropriate outdoor spaces are a fundamental part of our nursery offer. Pupils develop physical, imaginative, and social skills in the natural setting and learn from the world around them.
Our nursery team consists of a highly skilled Qualified Teacher, supported by experienced, dedicated Early Years practitioners who are committed to providing a safe, encouraging atmosphere which promotes learning through structured play and learning activities.
We provide term time childcare for children aged 3 years to school age from September 2021. You can have confidence in the high level of educational quality we provide within the Ipswich High School setting.
At Woolverstone Hall Nursery we provide children with interesting educational activities that are right for their stage of development as per the Revised Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
We offer a small nursery class taught by an inspirational Qualified Teacher who instils curiosity, creativity and a love of learning in every pupil from a young age. We provide structured learning opportunities and begin the phonic programme during nursery. There are also termly educational visits to support our EYFS curriculum and weekly visits to the Prep School Library, so our pupils can choose a book to take home to support early reading development.
We want all our pupils to reach their full potential and encourage learning and development outside of the EYFS curriculum. Our pupils additionally receive specialist teaching in French, Spanish, PE, Music, and Dance. They also partake in weekly swimming lessons in our 25m indoor heated pool with specialist swimming teachers. Outside of the classroom we provide the children the opportunity to access our all-weather outdoor learning area and they complete weekly Beach and Forest school activities to learn about the world around them.
Overall, our approach encourages children to be as curious outside of the classroom as inside the classroom. We often find that pupils who enter our Prep School Reception class from Woolverstone Hall Nursery are working above their age expectation in writing, maths, phonics, and other areas of the EYFS curriculum. They are also equipped with the necessary personal and learning foundations to work and concentrate independently within an older school environment.
We are proud to be part of the Ipswich High School community. Pupils at Woolverstone Hall Nursery have access to the 87-acre school campus and use the Swimming Pool, Sports Hall and AstroTurf pitches for relevant lessons. Nursery pupils are part of the whole school community. Older pupils within the Prep School and Senior School spend time with our nursery pupils to play and mentor them as they enter our school community. Nursery pupils attend Prep School assemblies, Sports Day, Harvest festivals and Christmas services at the local church. They also participate in the annual Prep School Nativity.
At the end of your child’s time at our nursery, we will guide you through the process of joining the Reception class at the Prep School – making it simple and stress free.
