Local historian Simon Pearce will talk about Mary who was born into a life of wealth and privilege. Following her own path, she married in secret and travelled thousands of miles between England, India and the Far East as an officer’s wife. Tragedy was never far away with the loss of a child, divorce, and the death of close family during the Great War.
