Year 10 GCSE Geography Field Trip

By Ms Lisa Richards, Head of Geography

On Thursday 15th and Friday 16th May, Year 10 Geography students visited Southwold for their GCSE Geography fieldwork. On Thursday, the students focussed on the beach to take readings measuring how effective the management is. This included data from the width of beach and the height of the groynes. As part of their course, they attended the Geography Fieldwork Academy located in the Old Hospital, an iconic building in Southwold. The day was led by Chris, a Southwold local, who also gave students the opportunity to fly a drone, many of whom tried this for the first time and captured fantastic images from above and along the coastline. Well done to the Year 10 Geographers who returned on Friday to visit the pier and to find out more from the visitors to and residents of Southwold.
