World Book Day

The excitement around school on World Book Day was as vibrant as ever. Pupils arrived eager to showcase their imaginative book character costumes—and just as keen to see what the staff had created too.

The PE Department drew plenty of attention with their fantastic team effort as “Toy Story”, especially with Miss Wooltorton and Mrs Stewart connected together all day as “Slinky” the dog.

Another brilliantly coordinated staff group came dressed as characters from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, demonstrating impressive creativity and attention to detail. Across the school, the standard of costumes was incredibly high, making judging a real challenge for Mr Browning, Ms Extance, and Mrs Finch, who had the difficult task of selecting winners for each Key Stage. But above all, the day was a celebration of participation, imagination, and our shared love of reading. It was wonderful to see pupils and staff alike embracing their favourite books and stories, making World Book Day a joyful celebration of creativity and literary enthusiasm.
