Winter Trips enrich the Boarding experience at Ipswich High School

With our periodic trips paused during the mock exam study leave, the boarders were eager to return to our weekly programme of local visits and engaging activities. Last term, as a house, we explored Norwich, Cambridge, and Bury St Edmunds, enjoying a great deal of shopping and some very good food. We also travelled to London twice. On our first visit we toured the Natural
History Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Science Museum.
The second trip took us back for an afternoon at Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. The boarders have particularly enjoyed our more active outings, throwing themselves into laser tag, bowling, and go-karting with enthusiasm. They have already told us how much they would love to repeat these trips. Our next trip will take us to London once more to explore historic Chinatown, timed to
coincide with the Lunar New Year, which many of our international boarders are looking forward to.
After half term, we plan to visit the Harry Potter Experience at Warner Bros. Studios, spend a day at Colchester Zoo, and watch an afternoon performance of our school production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
