Sports Excellence Programme

We are proud to partner with Northampton Saints, one of the UK's top professional rugby clubs, to bring elite-level coaching to Ipswich High School. Pupils will benefit from structured training, professional insight, and exclusive Saints experiences.

Autumn Term sessions are open to boys in Years 7-10, with groups divided by age where appropriate in accordance with RFU regulations. Boys in Years 5 and 6 will have the opportunity to join the programme in the Spring Term. 

We are thrilled to welcome back Simon Jackson, a fully qualified professional coach, holding the prestigious UEFA A License and the Full FA Youth Award, awarded by the English Football Association. He has more than 12 years' experience coaching talented young players, including within Norwich City FC's Category One Premier League Academy. He is the founder of SJ Football Coaching and will lead our Football Excellence Programme. Football is open to boys and girls in Years 5 and 6. 

We are delighted to introduce Next Level Netball, an exciting programme designed to develop confident and skilful players, combining technical coaching, tactical understanding and match-play decision-making. Sessions are led by Lucy B and Lucy C, two highly experienced coaches with over 20 years of combined experience as Heads of Netball, alongside extensive coaching at county, regional and performance level. Their impressive playing backgrounds include Loughborough Lightning, Surrey Storm and Saracens Mavericks, as well as England age-group, English Universities and British Universities representation. Together, they bring outstanding experience and expertise to help players take their game to the next level.

Open to girls in Years 7-13 by invitation, with new pupils given the opportunity to trial in September. There will be 9 sessions in the Autumn term.
