National Spirited Art Competition

Pupils are preparing their entries for the National Spirited Arts competition, which runs during one of our enrichments.
Eliza chose the theme “Faith and Hope in Our Future.” Her artwork features a butterfly; a cultural, religious and spiritually rich symbol of transformation, change, freedom, beauty and hope. Through this image, she expresses the belief that positive change and growth are possible, seeing hope for the future.
Sol chose the theme “Sacred Spaces.” He painted Angoville-au-Plain Church. During the D-Day landings, the church was used as a field hospital, treating both American and German wounded soldiers. Sol chose this as a sacred space because it protected and preserved one of the most sacred things on earth—human life. His work highlights compassion, humanity and care for others, even in times of conflict.
