U13 become the ISA National Hockey Champions

On Thursday 7th November, the U13 hockey squad travelled to the Lee Valley Hockey Stadium at the Olympic Park. The team had already set their sights on gold, inspired by the previous Olympians who had
stepped out on this pitch. The first step was to qualify out of our pool and into the cup round.
Our results were as follows:
V Bedford Greenacre 3-0 W
V Wycliffe College 2-0 W
V Stonar 0-0 D
Following this we qualified into the top competition where we had to play a further 3 games where we
successfully beat all 3 teams.
V Cundall Manor 2-0 W
V Princethorpe College 2-0 W
V Farnborough 1-0 W
This meant we were through to the cup final v Cranford School. After 10 minutes of both teams fighting fora goal, the game ended 0-0. Therefore we had to go to flicks. Annabel, Lara and Sophie all scored their flicks but so did the opposition. This meant it went through to a sudden death round where Annabel stepped up first to score, shortly followed by Lara. Charlotte then made a fantastic block to keep Cranford out meaning we were crowned the U13 ISA NATIONAL CUP CHAMPIONS!
The squad worked tirelessly throughout the day and thoroughly deserved to receive this prestigious title.
