Modern Foreign Languages Department Supports The Ipswich Hygiene Bank

An astounding 90.04kg of toiletries were collected, filling an impressive 60 bags!

The Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Department at Ipswich High School has truly exemplified the spirit of giving this festive season by organising a collection for The Ipswich Hygiene Bank. Thanks to the generosity of our school community, an astounding 90.04kg of toiletries were collected, filling an impressive 60 bags!

These donations will make a real difference within our local community. The Hygiene Bank will distribute the bags to places where they are needed most, including a womenโ€™s refuge, local council hostels, older teenagers living independently, homeless shelters, and local church groups.

The heartfelt effort behind the donations did not go unnoticed. Some of our students took exceptional care with their contributions, even including handwritten messages to the recipients. In fact, the Hygiene Banl team found themselves turning to Google Lens to translate several messages โ€“ particularly those written in Japanese! These thoughtful gestures reflect not only the kindness of our students but also their commitment to understanding and embracing other cultures.

The Hygiene Bank expressed their immense gratitude to everyone involved, saying:ย โ€œJust to let you know how very grateful we are for all your donations. Please thank the students their bags will help so many people in our community.โ€

This initiative is a testament to the generosity and community spirit of Ipswich High School students and families. As a school, we are incredibly proud of our studentsโ€™ efforts and commitment to helping those in need.

Together, we can continue to make a positive difference. Thank you to everyone who supported this fantastic cause!
