Meet our boarders

Get to know a member of our boarding community. This week, meet Sunny L who is a boarder at Ipswich High School. Here is Sunny with Adam, another Sixth Former, where they were organising collections for a food bank in Ipswich.

WHAT ARE YOU STUDYING AT IPSWICH HIGH SCHOOL?
I am in the Sixth Form studying A Levels in Chemistry, Biology, Maths and Psychology.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE SUBJECT?
My favourite subject is Psychology. It is interesting and combines science with essay writing and critical thinking skills. It is helpful as it gives a different perspective away from STEM subjects.

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO AFTER SIXTH FORM?
I want to study Biochemistry at University, hopefully in England.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE IPSWICH HIGH SCHOOL?
I wanted a change of environment. Previously I was up north and I wanted a change of surroundings and culture.
After visiting the school, I was immediately attracted by what IHS had to offer; new facilities, a smaller Sixth Form, plus the chance to get to know people and have a stable network.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT SCHOOL?
The general vibe of the school. It is comfortable, and the people (staff and pupils) are great to be around.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT BOARDING?
The house staff are very friendly and I feel like part of the group. I feel very taken care of.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE BOARDING TRIP?
Cambridge and Bury Christmas Markets.

WHAT OTHER THINGS DO YOU DO AROUND SCHOOL?
I love helping out in the Prep library every Tuesday.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE ACTIVITY IN THE BOARDING HOUSE?
Playing Mario Kart on the Switch.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE LUNCH AT IPSWICH HIGH SCHOOL?
Lasagne then chocolate crunch with chocolate custard.
