Lily Swimming Success

We are delighted to celebrate an outstanding achievement by Lily, who has been crowned County Champion for her age group following an exceptional performance at the Suffolk County Championships.
Competing in the Girls’ Age 16 category, Lily entered an incredible 14 events, achieving 13 gold medals and 1 silver, alongside an impressive 12 personal best (PB) performances. Her consistency and determination earned her the title of “Top Girl in the Girls’” Age 16 category, awarded based on the highest FINA points accumulated from her top five swims.
Lily was also crowned Suffolk County Champion in the Girls’ 400m Individual Medley, and notably became the overall champion in this demanding event. Those familiar with the 400 IM will appreciate the significance of this accomplishment, as it requires excellence across all four swimming disciplines as well as exceptional endurance and resilience.
This is a truly remarkable achievement and a wonderful example of what can be accomplished through hard work, commitment, and dedication. Lily’s success is an inspiration to swimmers across the school.
Lily was joined at the Championships by several other school swimmers, with Nate, Ben, and Lucia competing at County level for the first time — a fantastic milestone in their swimming journeys.
Nate delivered an excellent performance, improving his personal best by two seconds in the heats with a time of 37.13. Competing in a combined 10–11 age category, he narrowly missed the final in a field dominated by older swimmers, but ranked third among the 10-year-old boys based on heat times. The result has given him great motivation as he looks ahead to next year’s championships, while in the immediate future he will return to represent his club in the U12 relay event.
All swimmers representing the school achieved personal best performances in their events, demonstrating the strength and progress of the team.
Congratulations also go to Oscar, Carter, Alex, Sophie, Chloe, and Isla, who each secured individual medals across their chosen strokes and relay events. A special mention goes to Isla, who achieved a silver medal in the gruelling 1500m freestyle, one of the most physically demanding races in competitive swimming.
We are proud to announce that Lily, Alex, Carter, Chloe, Sophie, and Isla have all achieved qualifying times for the Regional Championships, which will take place in May. We wish them the very best as they prepare for this next exciting stage of competition.
Congratulations to all swimmers involved on their dedication, progress, and outstanding performances.
