Ipswich High School Celebrating GCSE Exam Success

Ipswich High School, a leading independent school in Suffolk, are proud to announce another year of exceptional GCSE results, with our students achieving remarkable academic success across all subjects. The number of pupils gaining top grades has risen with one in five grades a 9 or 8 and one in three grades a 9-7.

Eniko, who achieved six grade 9s, three grade 8s and one grade 7, will be studying History, Economics, Maths, Further Maths and an EPQ at Ipswich High Sixth Form. Enriko said “I am really happy with my results; they were what I was expecting. I have enjoyed learning at Ipswich High. You get to study what you enjoy and not just what is in the curriculum, as teachers tailor the work that you are interested in and relevant to the subject and this has given me contextual knowledge of subjects I enjoy.”

Mack, who achieved seven grade 9s, two grade 8s and two grade 7s, will be studying Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Ancient History at A Level. Mack commented, “I really enjoyed Ipswich High, and my highlight will always be the Year 9 History trip to Belgium as it was really well planned and I enjoyed it all.”

Isabella, who achieved five grade 9s, three grade 8s and one grade 7, will be studying Biology, Geography and Chemistry at A Level. Isobella commented “I am very happy with my results especially Geography which I love as I got a 9, and I got 8s in Maths and Latin. I have loved all the sports at Ipswich High, especially Netball and going to Nottingham for a tournament, which was great fun.”

Esther, who achieved three grade 9s, five grade 8s and one grade 6 will attend Ipswich High Sixth Form to study A Level Latin, English Literature and History. Esther said “I really like Latin, Latin is a hard subject, but my teacher has made all my lessons fantastic. All of my subject teachers were so great, I was always excited for my lessons. I have always felt super lucky to come here, and I feel so privileged to enjoy everything that the school has to offer.”.

Dan Browning, the school’s Head, is impressed with the GCSE pupil’s performance: “I am so pleased for the pupils receiving their results today, they have worked so hard and have been brilliantly supported by their teacher and families. I am particularly pleased that the number of top grades awarded has again increased. Many will be continuing their studies in our Sixth Form, but I wish them all, wherever their next steps take them, the very best for the future. They will always remain part of our IHS family.”
