Prep School celebrate Anti-Bullying Week

Last week, the whole Prep School came together to celebrate Anti-Bullying Week – an important time for us to reflect on how we treat one another and how we can work together to make our school a kinder, safer place for everyone.

We began the week with a special assembly led by our Heads of School, Hattie and Adam. They spoke to us about the theme “Using Your Power for Good.” They encouraged everyone to think about the small actions we can take every day to lift others up, support friends who need help and make sure no one feels left out.

Throughout the week, all pupils took part in a range of thoughtful activities. One of the favourites was writing kindness cards, a bit like a “Secret Santa,” but with kind words instead of presents! Each pupil was given a buddy to write an anonymous message to, something to brighten their day or highlight a positive quality about them. It was a wonderful reminder of how powerful kind words can be.

Another highlight was the creation of our very own Kindness Tree, an idea suggested by Connie, our Prep Head Girl. Each leaf on the tree represents an act of kindness, a positive message, or a pledge to help others. As the week went on, the tree blossomed with colourful leaves filled with thoughtful words from every class.

Across all year groups, pupils focused on collaboration, kindness and the importance of speaking up for anyone who might need support. Teachers and pupils discussed how standing together and looking out for one another can make a huge difference.

Anti-Bullying Week reminded us that kindness is something we can practise every day, not just for a week, but all year round. By choosing to use our ‘power for good’, we can help make our school a place where everyone feels safe, valued, and supported.
