French Tradition

The whole school ceebrated the traditional La fête des Rois this week. Prep School students have been learning about this tradition in their French lessons this week. The tradition involves hiding a bean or small figure in an almond-flavoured cake called a ‘galette’. Whoever finds the bean gets to be king or queen for the day. Nursery and Reception pupils learnt a traditional song and dance, and pupils in Year 1 made crowns. Here we can see some of the pupils from the Senior School and Prep wearing their crowns.
