Ipswich High School U14 Girls Hockey Success

Following being crowned the U14 County Champions, the U14 squad had utilised every opportunity to prepare for their upcoming regional finals which took place on Friday 14th November.
The squad were simply brilliant the whole day, even though it rained continuously.
The day started with 5 pool matches and the team secured 5 wins.
V Brentwood 1-0 W (Evelyn)
V Essex and Herts 1-0 W (Annabel)
V Bedford Girls 1-0 W (Annabel)
V Norwich High 3-0 W (Annabel x2 and Amelia)
V Kimbolton 2-0 W (Lara and Brooke)
This meant we finished top of our group and the only school to be unbeaten in the group stages. We then had to play New Hall and the girls played an outstanding game securing a 2-0 win.
The girls had achieved their goal and made it to the final. They fought with everything they had. They won short corners, they hit the post, and tried every skill to get a goal. Unfortunately, the game finished in a devastating 1-0 loss and with one team only going through to National Finals, the girls finished in 2nd place. This team were the only team to only let in one goal the whole day but sport can be tough and we know this squad will continue to stick together and begin preparing for the next tournament.
The pupils truly were a credit to the school led excellently by Captain Annabel and Vice-Captain Lara. The squad of 15 should feel incredibly proud of what they achieved and being named as one of the best teams in the region is a true honour.
Squad:
Annabel B (C), Lara H (VC), Jemima (GK), Holly, Isla B, Eliza, Cora, Isla M, Amelie, Sophie, India, Brooke, Amelia, Evelyn, Jemma.
