House event success at Ipswich High School

On just our second day back, the whole school erupted with excitement and vibrant colours as we launched into our first silver house event of the year; The Argonaut Quest. Both the Prep and Senior schools came together, and split into their respective house teams, to take on a variety of challenges designed to test their skills and teamwork. From tricky puzzles and exhilarating obstacle courses to entertaining dressing-up races, there was something for everyone.
The Argonaut Quest offered the perfect opportunity for students to showcase their individual talentsโwhether in logic, coordination, speed, or communicationโ while working together to earn points for their house.
The event also fostered new friendships across different year groups, helping students build bonds and a sense of unity within their houses. It was particularly heartwarming to see older students in both the Prep and Senior school supporting and encouraging their younger housemates throughout the day.
The Prep School students had a jam-packed morning, taking on six fun-filled activities: an obstacle race, scavenger hunt, giant games, jigsaw puzzles, memory games, and a dressing-up race. The energy was electric as each house battled for glory.
Meanwhile, the Senior School students had their hands full with a diverse range of activities including Balloon Relay Race, Language Numbers, Memory Challenge, Dressing-Up Race, Obstacle Course, Jigsaw Challenge, Water Relay, Logic Puzzles and a World Map.
Congratulations to Terra for claiming victory in Prep School, Senior School and overall! All the houses should be proud of their efforts!
You may have also noticed our stunning new house flags and banners, which add to the schoolโs sense of community spirit. Keep an eye on Woolverstone Hall, where house flags will be flown to signal which house is currently leading in points and competitions.
Finally, be sure to mark your calendars for our next whole-house event, the much- anticipated Cross Country, taking place on 21st November. More details will be shared closer to the event.
