On Friday 10th November, the Year 3 pupils went on a trip to Colchester Castle to learn more about the Romans. The class spent the morning looking around the museum at the castle. There was so much to see, from ancient coins, clothes, jewellery and pottery to weapons and even skulls. The children then went down into the castle vaults, where they learnt about Boudicca’s attack on Colchester and what life was like under the rule of the Romans.

In the afternoon, Year 3 constructed a Celtic roundhouse and a Roman villa, which turned out to be quite hard work! The pupils had a great day and haven’t stopped talking about it since.
