Sixth Form Admissions
Our Sixth Form offers mixed tutor groups where Year 12 and 13 students are brought together in a distinct and thriving Sixth Form community. Our Sixth Form suite in Woolverstone Hall is an ideal space for our students to study, relax, have a coffee and (of course) to socialise.
We welcome applications for all year groups in our Sixth Form, depending on availability, we can accept applications and make assessments throughout the academic year for any year group within the Sixth Form. If you are considering the Ipswich High School Sixth Form we encourage you to attend an Open Morning, Sixth Form Open Evening or to book a private tour with our Registrar.
All external pupils wishing to apply to our Sixth Form must complete the Registration Form and appropriate application forms. All current Year 11 Ipswich High School pupils are automatically offered a place in Sixth Form and no further information is needed unless they would like to apply for the Orwell Scholarship.
Sixth Form Admissions Dates for Entry in September 2024
- By Thursday 5th October 2023: Attend Sixth Form Open Evening.
- Register your child using the following link: https://bit.ly/IHSPortal
- By Friday 10th November 2023: Submit your scholarship applications with your one-page personal statement.
- By Friday 17th November 2023: If you are shortlisted for a scholarship you will receive an invitation for the assessments.
- Monday 27th – Wednesday 29th November 2023: Attend scholarship assessments (dates to be allocated).
- By Monday 15 December 2023: Receive offer and notification of your scholarship outcome.
- By Sunday 28th March 2024: All offers of places accepted (subject to GCSE results).
- Monday 24th June & Tuesday 25th June 2024: Attend Sixth Form Transition Event.
- September 2024: First Day of Sixth Form.
