Teacher of Geography

We are offering the opportunity to work at one of the highest performing schools in Suffolk with eager and well behaved students. We are looking for an inspiring and well qualified Geography teacher who can teach Geography up to and including A level. There will also be an opportunity to be involved in the wider school’s enrichment programme and the successful applicant will be required to support curriculum based school trips.

Based on a beautiful 84-acre campus, five miles outside of Ipswich, the school has long enjoyed a high profile across the region for its academic success and superb pastoral care.

We are seeking to appoint a Sport Residential Graduate Assistant to join us for one academic year starting September 2024. The successful candidate will play an important role in our boarding, living and working in the boarding house, and will also ideally support the school in a particular area, for example: the Sports department.

The SRGA will reside in staff accommodation which will be situated in the boarding house and will play an active role in the running of the boarding house. Our RGA will work either a Saturday or Sunday each week to support activities and trips designed to enrich our boarders experience of British culture.  There will be at least one protected day off each week.

You will be expected to take an active interest in the development of each and every boarder in your care.

Our RGA will receive:

  • Boarding Essentials BSA Certificate
  • Access to school facilities including the swimming pool and gym
  • A qualification in first aid
  • High-quality accommodation
  • All meals provided during term-time
  • Invaluable experience of working in a school environment

At the end of the tenure, our SRGA will have gained confidence and experience which will be invaluable in whatever career they choose.

Cleaning Positions

Hours: 15 or 20 hours per week (or these hours can be combined in one role). Monday – Friday.

Are you well-organised and reliable? If so, we would love you to join our friendly team of Cleaners to keep our school environment clean, tidy and safe.

Knowledge of use of basic cleaning equipment and materials would be an advantage, although full training will be provided. Our Evening Cleaners work throughout the year including during the school holidays in a friendly working environment and great setting.

Peripatetic Singing Teacher

Required: Summer Term 2024.

Ipswich High School is looking for an enthusiastic and inspirational teacher of singing to join the excellent team of visiting instrumental and vocal teachers.

The school has a strong tradition of singing and students often compete locally and nationally, as well as singing with choirs inside and outside the school.

The Music Department is a happy place to work and the students are friendly and motivated. There is a supportive ethos in the school and vocal and instrumental teachers often run ensembles.

The new teacher should have experience of entering students for exams and must be familiar with a wide range of repertoire as well as an ability to teach technique and musicianship.

It is hoped that the new teacher will start in the Summer Term.
