Part-Time School Estate and Events Officer

Required 2nd September 2019

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Estate and Events Officer to help provide first class site and facilities services and a safe, pleasant environment for staff, students and visitors.

The successful candidate is likely to have:

  • Ability to work effectively both in collaboration with other professionals/teams and also on own initiative
  • Handy/trades person skills such as painting, carpentry, plumbing
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements
  • Substantial experience of premises management, preferably in an education context
  • Excellent organisational skills and time management
  • Ability to prioritise and organise own workload
  • Able to work to deadlines
  • Knowledge of events management

A minimum of 16 hours per week primarily on Saturday and Sundays, all year round with 30 days annual leave, which is pro rata.

Salary: Fte £17,871 will pro rata to £7,943 pa

Chef 2x Positions

Required 2nd September 2019

We are looking to recruit two enthusiastic and innovative Chefs to help with the on-going expansion of the catering department. The successful candidates need to have a sound knowledge of food and high levels of organisational ability. With at least 2 years’ current experience in a similar position in an educational setting, business and industry or hotel, you must be highly motivated, dedicated, lead by example and enjoy working in a busy environment.

You should be a confident communicator, be IT literate and have up to date knowledge of the requirements of health & safety and hygiene management. There will be no late evening work.

The successful candidates are to have:

  • A relevant Catering qualification
  • The ability to work effectively both in a team and also on own initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to relate to young people, parents, colleagues.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements, in particular, food hygiene
  • Knowledge of menu planning and costing, nutrition and healthy eating

Position 1:  21 Hours per week primarily covering Saturday and Sunday food service during term time plus 10 days.  42.16 paid weeks including 30 days annual leave and 8 Bank Holidays.  Salary Range: £17,871 – £18,742, pro rata, £8453 – £8864

Position 2: 40 Hours per week primarily covering lunch and evening meal weekday service during term time plus 13 days. 42.86 paid weeks including 30 days annual leave and 8 Bank Holidays.  Salary Range: £17,871 – £18,742, pro rata £16,368 – £17,166
