The Royal British Legion is commemorating the WW1 Suffolk war dead by asking schools to hold a commemoration service at their school church. On Thursday 8th November we will hold a brief service which commences at 10:30am at St Michael’s Church on the school site. We will gather around the grave of Guardsman William Stanley Foreman to celebrate his life and sacrifice. We hope you can join us for this.
Coffee and cakes will be served in the Prep School after the service, which will end at approximately 11:15am. It is requested that medals should be worn by veterans and others.
We will be inviting the local community, so please do extend this invitation to family and friends. Our thanks to Dr Lisa Hill and Anglia Research for their extensive genealogical research into Guardsman Foreman’s relatives which has allowed us to make contact with surviving relations and extend an invitation to the event.
