Ipswich High School is delighted to announce that we will be opening our first boarding house and welcoming our first boarders from September 2019.
The school is purchasing ‘The Dairy House’, which is located on the edge of the school campus, close to St Michael Parish Church and adjacent to Church Field. It is a Grade II listed house, dating from 1870 and originally part of the Woolverstone Hall Estate.
In addition to the main house, the plot also features barns and outbuildings, all of which will form part of the new boarding house.
The school is working with local architects and a school design company to completely renovate the property to meet the needs of boarding pupils. In September 2019, The Dairy (house) will initially house approximately 16 pupils, with additional living space for staff. There will be twin and single rooms available for pupils and we hope to create a warm ‘home away from home’ environment.
Following a second phase of development, The Dairy property as a whole will be able to house up to 55 pupils.
We will share further news and information about our boarding offer over the next few months. If you have any questions in the meantime, please email: L.Beavon@ipswichhighschool.co.uk
