The Course

The Year 10 and 11 course is intended to extend your knowledge and skills in sports activities that you have already experienced and provide the opportunity to experience new sporting challenges. The aim of Physical Education at KS4 is also to promote enjoyment and to encourage participation in life-long physical activity.

The benefits you will gain from social interaction, co-operation and continued development in physical skilfulness and self-confidence will help develop positive attitudes towards an active and healthy lifestyle and, hopefully, sport for life. Physical Education will provide a safe and challenging learning environment in which to develop. It is also the stage where you are able to have some choice in the sports that you wish to take part.

In Year 10 you will select activities to participate in alongside Hockey and Netball. The types of sports that you may be involved in could include Athletics, Badminton, Cricket, Fitness, Hockey, Netball, Rounders, Swimming, Tennis, Trampolining, Volleyball and Wide Games.

Representative Opportunities

We run teams in many sports across all age groups. Teams enter local competitions and national events. Pupils who demonstrate a talent within a sport or achieve high performance standards will be encouraged to enter county development pathways.
