Cambridge Pre University Mandarin Chinese course equips those learning Mandarin Chinese as a foreign language with the skills to operate in a Chinese environment. It also has been specifically designed to meet the needs of foreign language learners. Students are encouraged to develop the four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. As well as allowing learners to develop their language skills, the course also fosters an awareness of Chinese culture and history.
Exams and Assessment
- Paper 1 Speaking: 15 minutes – 60 marks – 20% weighting
- Paper 2 Listening, Reading and Translation: 2 hours 30 minutes – 60 marks – 30% weighting
- Paper 3 Written and Usage: 2 hours – 60 – 25% weighting
- Paper 4 Chinese Culture: 2 hours 30 minutes – 60 marks – 25% weighting
