It was great to see so much support for Art and Design at the Anna Airy presentation evening on Friday. The selection of Art and Design work from all the Suffolk schools continues to improve in quality and challenge every year. We had 26 pupil’s work selected from the school to be part of the exhibition, with work from Year 10 to 13 pupils sitting against mostly A Level work from other schools. It was pleasing to see how strong our collection of work was in that context. Three of our Design students were highly commended for work they produced last academic year. Wai Y. for her DNA inspired sculpture, Isobel D. for her deconstructed Geodesic Dome sculpture that they both produced in Year 12 and Olivia T. for her Spiral Birdhouses that she produced in her GCSE exam. If you have the chance to go and see the exhibition at UCS waterfront building in Ipswich, it is still on until 29th November.
