Team GB Olympian Dominic King leads sports sessions
Today Ipswich High School for Girls had a very special visitor in the form of Olympic Athlete Dominic King. Dominic King is a GB Racewalker and was selected for the British team in the men's 50km walk at the 2012 Summer Olympics and the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
Dominic visited the Ipswich High School for Girls Junior School as part of the 'Sports for Schools' initiative. The programme aims to provide athlete-led physical activities to inspire kids and to raise money for PE equipment in schools. Dominic today put the Ipswich High School for Girls through their paces with fun fitness circuits. The finale to the day was an assembly where Dominic King addresses the girls and talked about his sporting experience in a Q&A session.
Ms Jane Fison, Director of Sport commented ''It was such a great opportunity for our students to meet Olympian athlete Dominic King. The girls came away inspired by Dominic and I am sure this day will have a lasting impression on the girls''.
