Our curriculum is individual and personalised combining the rigour of subject specific study with the development of transferable skills.
We acknowledge the need for space to think and develop ideas and theories whilst maintaining a structured environment to deepen knowledge and explore a passion for knowledge and learning. We provide a broadly based curriculum which is accessible to all, while at the same time offering differentiated and personalised pathways appropriate to the needs of individual pupils.
At Ipswich High School we recognise the need for girls to be offered a high challenge/low threat learning environment, both in and beyond the class room. All the girls are encouraged to take risks with their learning to push themselves beyond what they may believe to be possible within the safety of our school environment.

Pastoral Care really matters. To watch your daughter emerge as a confident, resilient young woman but with a mindfulness to tackle new challenges is a matter of pride to the pastoral team at Ipswich High. Our system of Form Tutors and Heads of Year, together with school Nurse and counsellor ensure we really get to know individuals and are able to build a relationship with you and your daughter. Communication is vital and our availability to chat through any concerns you may have to ensure a smooth transition at all key points in your daughter's development is important.
Our PHSE programme is delivered by form tutors together with a speaker programme, exploring overarching topics such as: Leading for Life, Smart Choices, Conflict resolution and Change Management. Our Parenting Teens evening has speakers ranging from; 'exploring the teenage brain', 'dealing with anxiety', 'sex education' and 'cyber safety'.
Pastoral care also means fun, so we plan several outings to encourage group bonding, which include shopping trips, camping and bowling along with trips to the pantomime as examples!
