Being a Parent at Ipswich High

Life as a parent can be very busy! So at Ipswich High School we try hard to ensure that you - as parents - have all that you need to make your experience a positive one.

When you become a parent at Ipswich High School, you are given access to the Parent Portal, Firefly using a password entry. Firefly is a one stop information zone dedicated to your daughter's school life. Here you will find information on sports fixtures, school events, your daughters' school reports, tracking grades and a personalised timetable, along with general information about term dates, school contacts and the school calendar.

Explore our parent portal, Firefly

The majority of our communications with parents are now sent by email, with emergency messages sent by text. Occasionally, you will be sent letters or hard copies of documents, however to reduce costs and environmental impact, we try to limit paper communications where possible.

We hold several events throughout the school year, to offer parents the chance to meet socially, to give feedback and ask questions to staff and to share in your daughters' successes and achievements.

Parents are also invited to attend specialist presentations, including curriculum-based talks and pastoral presentations, along with Year Group events and Parent Evenings. All our events are designed to foster positive and fruitful relationships with our parents. Please see the school calendar on Firefly for a list of upcoming events.

Additionally, our parent body, the Ipswich High School Association hosts fundraising events such as their annual Quiz Night and our Summer Fete and Christmas Fayre.

Please see IHSA for further details.

The school uses the ParentPay system to make booking trips and paying for school items as easy as possible.
